Hopsewee Plantation

Built around 1740, Hopsewee was once one of the South’s major rice plantations and the birthplace of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Now a private residence, the national Historic Landmark is open Tuesday-Saturday with tours on the hour from 10am until 3pm and beginning at 11am on Saturdays. Dining at the tearoom on site is available Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am until 3:30pm. Contact us for more information about hosting private events here.
